In a shocking case of violence, a man assaulted a woman traffic constable in Mumbai after she stopped him because he was allegedly driving while talking on his mobile.

The incident was caught by a CCTV camera and the man, Shashishikant Kalgude, is seen mercilessly thrashing a female police officer after she stops him for talking on his mobile.

This incident occurred in Thane district adjoining Mumbai at around 11am on Thursday when Kalgude was speaking on the phone while he was driving his SUV.

The female constable signalled him to stop his car, but he ignored her and tried to drive past her. However, she came in front of him resulting in Kalgude being forced to apply the brakes, reports Times Of India.

An official from the Naupada police station told the newspaper:

“When the constable asked him to show his his driving licence and vehicle documents, Kalgude started abusing her. He then slapped and punched her so hard that her nose started bleeding.”

There were also plenty of bystanders who just stood there and watched, as the female cop was repeatedly beaten up by Kalgude, who has claimed he’s affiliated with the Shiv Sena

When the Shiv Sena was confronted by Times Now over this issue, they denied having any links with Kalgude.

Kalgude was eventually arrested and booked under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code.
