So we’re running out of superlatives to describe just how great a cricketer Virat Kohli is. We weren’t even done lavishing praise after what he did to Pakistan the other day and now he’s gone ahead and whooped Australia’s ass as well. So if not superlatives, how about we use stats to explain his total mastery of the shortest format.

For the benefit of the likes of Andrew Flintoff, we’ve put together 10 statistics about Virat Kohli in T20s that put into perspective just how much daylight there is between him and everybody else who wields a willow.

122.8 in a format that allows just 120 balls for the entire team!

Is he a man or a machine?

737 runs in 15 innings. Go figure!

8 50s in 15 matches. Not bad at all!

He holds the joint record with Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle.

Chasing matches brings out the best in him. Like they say, Kohli eats targets for dinner.

Only McCullum has scored more runs, but his 1006 runs came in 38 innings. Kohli has scored 918 in just 19!

There’s a reason we have beaten Australia in the last 6 meetings.

The Aussies must be sick of him!

He got there in just 39 innings!

The best part is that he’s only 27 years old and we can safely assume that his best is yet to come. Here’s to more wins and records!
