A door creaking, is the oldest trick for a horror flick. Spooky tricks have come a long way since then, Evil Dead and The Exorcist changed the way horror films were perceived. Recently, films like The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity and The Conjuring have won back credibility for the genre.

1. Crimson Peak

2. The Green Inferno

Directed by Eli Roth, the film follows an idealistic band of students as they travel to the Amazon to save a vanishing tribe. Things don’t go according to plan when they’re taken hostage by the very natives they’re trying to protect.

3. Sinister 2

The second part of Sinister looks like a lot of fun as the aftermath of the first movie, a mother and her twins move into a rural house marked for death.

4. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

This franchise has been going around for a bit and may have dipped a little bit, but the fifth one promises to be better than its predecessors.
