How many times have you found yourself in a sticky situation where you badly need to use your mobile phone and realised that you’re just a few seconds away from running out of battery charge? Plenty, right? Well, 19 year old Eesha Khare from California, who is also a runner-up at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2013, found herself in exactly the same scenario as well. Struck by panic in that situation she had to resort to finding a pay phone when her mobile phone was rendered powerless. At that moment, she decided that at this time and age, mobile battery recharge had a long way to go. Esha developed a supercapacitor energy storage device which charges mobile devices faster than it was ever thought possible before. This invention of hers earned her a second place at the Intel Fair and the accolade of “Intel Foundation Young Scientist Award”. According to her, she wishes to harness her invention to ensure that you can fully charge your mobile devices “in less than a minute”. This woman is here to change the way the world functions and let’s wish her the best in fulfilling this vision of hers.
