Ranjani Shanker, a resident of Bangalore, booked an auto using the Ola App. Based on recent news & events, she was naturally scared and nervous. She had to travel almost 40 km from Bangalore City to Kanakpura Road at night.

38 km at night, with a stranger!

“He told me that the location I’ve asked for doesn’t allow autos in the suggested route, and so we’d have to take a different route.”

Naturally that scared her so she searched Google maps for the simplest route and asked him follow it. He agreed without hesitation but warned her that the route had a lot of low light areas.

And the darkness began…

30 minutes of nothing but absolute darkness. The auto driver knew that she was terrified. So he told her that Ola had given him specific training on how to safely drive unaccompanied women passengers .

“He waited 20 minutes with me until my friend arrived, crossed the road with me and ensured I got in safe.”

What happened after he dropped her, made her respect him even more. Shanker said, “He waited 20 minutes with me until my friend arrived, crossed the road with me and ensured I got in safe.”

His name is Ghasamfar Ali K, and what Ranjani wrote at the end of her post sums up everything in the most perfect way. “Thank you Ghasamfar Ali. Ola, you should be proud to have him drive for you.”
