Music composer Aadesh Shrivastava, who contributed melodious soundtracks to over 100 films in a career spanning over 25 years, has bid adieu to the world, just a day after his 49th birthday. The tragic news came at 12:30 am, as Shrivastava passed away after years of battling cancer.

He was being treated for cancer since 2011, and was engaged in a tough battle against the disease for the last 42 days, also showing signs of improvement. Support came from stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai, who visited him along with music industry veterans like Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik.

He begin his career as a composer in 1993 with the film Kanyadaan , and rose to fame with Aao Pyaar Karein which was a chart buster. Along the years he gave music to many more hit films, and also composed background scores for notable films like Shah Rukh Khan starrer Paheli , directed by Amol Palekar.

Aadesh was also a brilliant singer, who lent his voice to songs like Shava Shava and the popular track Mora Piya from the film Rajneeti in 2010. Aadesh gained international fame, by collaborating with the likes of Akon, Wyclef Jean and Shakira.

His body is being kept at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai as of now, and the funeral will be held at 12:30 pm at Oshiwara crematorium in Andheri West.
