Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs, Information and Broadcasting, Arun Jaitley has defended the recent steps taken by the current government through a Facebook post. The post is a comprehensive statement including India’s jump in the list of countries for ease in business to the issue of rising intolerance.

In the post, reiterating the government’s stance on intolerance, Jaitley has appealed to “every well-wisher of India and the present government” not to make statements that could vitiate the atmosphere and obstruct growth. He also disapproved the move of the creative personalities and literary icons to return their awards branding them ‘rabid anti-BJP elements’ and their protest a manufactured rebellion.
