As the US is still coping with another incident of a gunman opening fire on innocent civilians, the gun violence in the country just seems to be getting worse.

While there have been numerous reports of adults and teens getting trigger happy , one incident shows that children too are being pushed to rising levels of intolerance by the gun culture.

In a shocking incident reported by WKRN News , an 11-year-old boy, studying in the fifth grade shot, an eight-year-old girl dead with a shotgun. The reason was that the girl did not let him play with her puppy.

According to the girl’s mother, the boy had been bullying her daughter ever since they moved into the neighbourhood.

The girl’s mother was heartbroken after losing her child in the ghastly incident that was witnessed by a neighbour’s daughter, and said, “She was a precious little girl. She was a mommy’s girl. No matter how bad of a mood you were in she could always make you smile, want her back in my arms.”

While the debate for gun control in the US rages on, such incidents are pointing towards a trend that has haunted the American society for a long time.
