In the wake of scores of literary figures across the country returning their Sahitya Akademi awards in support of freedom of speech and expression against the recent cases of Dadri lynching and attacks on free thinkers and writers, here is another addition. But this time the protester is a student.

Sameer Gojwari , an MBA pass-out from the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), in Kashmir, has refused to accept his degree from HRD minister Smriti Irani, as a protest against “diminishing freedoms” in the country. It was the university’s first convocation, reported PTI.
