Avi Gandhi, an American of Indian origin, who runs the Center Lane Stationery in Levittown, NY, is loved by his regular customers, some of who are also his friends. However, Gandhi recently found himself in financial turmoil. His wife, Bharati, survived a battle with cancer which left them with huge medical bills. The crunch was so bad that Avi Gandhi was almost forced to sell his shop.

This is where the locals came in. Craig Dennis, a loyal customer, along with his wife, Celeste, came up with the brilliant idea of a ‘cash mob’ – a day where loyal customers of Avi would throng the store and try to clear out the shelves. Once the event was announced on Facebook, over 100 people RSVP-ed. Watch the full video here and see how a tight-knit community came together to help out a small business owner everyone loved.
