Most cell-phone users who were old enough to have phones by the early 2000s, have at some point used a Nokia phone. And even the ones who didn’t, are familiar with the iconic Nokia ringtone.

But where did it come from?

Well, the Nokia tune (also called Grande Valse) is a phrase from a composition for solo guitar, Gran Vals, by the Spanish classical guitarist and composer Francisco Tárrega, written in 1902.
