Three soldiers were killed after an army convoy was ambushed by terrorists on Saturday near Pampore in south Kashmir.

The terrorists attacked the convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at around 3.30 pm. At least two other soldiers were injured in the attack that took place around 20 km from Srinagar, reports NDTV

Initial reports claim the militants were on a motorcycle when they began firing indiscriminately and then rode away quickly.

The army cordoned off some parts of Pampore immediately and began a house-to-house search operation to nab the attackers, reports The Hindu

Pampore has witnessed several terror strikes this year. The seven-story Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) building in the town was attacked in both February and October.
