A Jodhpur court on Wednesday acquitted Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in an Arms Act case that had been filed against the actor in 1998.

What was the case?

The forest department had filed a case against Khan under the Arms Act in October 1998 for allegedly keeping and using firearms with an expired license. 

The actor was accused of using the guns for the alleged poaching of two black bucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur. 

The 51-year old actor was in Jodhpur at that time along with his co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu for the shooting of his film Hum Saath Saath Hai

Salman Khan had come to in Jodhpur on Tuesday evening with his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri and some advocates. 

All the actors accused in the black buck poaching case have been summoned by the court on January 25 for the recording of statements.
