What would you do if you got a million dollars? Go on a shopping spree, buy cars and basically go crazy? A thief in California did all that but he went a step ahead and gave himself away.

He ended up spending $1 million on his favourite mobile game, Game of war.

Taking the love of video games to a whole new crazy level, the thief who stole over $4.8 million from his employer, spent $1 million of it on Game of War in-app purchases, reported BBC.

In case, you don't know, Game Of War is one of the top-grossing mobile games in the world with celebrities like Mariah Carey, Kate Upton and Arnold Schwarzenegger advertising it.

45-year-old Kevin Lee Co, stole the money from his employer at company called Holt California over a period of seven years, starting from early 2008. All through the seven years, he managed to hide the transactions until he was eventually discovered in March, 2015.

He recently confessed to having spent that kind of money on the game.

He has been charged with wire fraud and money laundering, both of which carry maximum sentences of 20 years each and his sentencing is due in May.
