In what seems to be an unprecedented venture, a Miami-based cruise line is launching a year-round yacht-like cruise line specifically for the LGBT community. Anteros Cruise will not only cater to the community but also to family and friends of the LGBT members.

For the ones who are excited by this news, hold your horses because this cruise is set to launch only on April 2017.

Director of Business and Development for Anteros Cruise, Marc Baron says to TravelPulse "The cruise industry has been growing at a phenomenal rate year-over-year since the 1970s, and you can attribute the LGBT community as being one of the advocate groups, because they cruise at twice the rate of the mainstream community. If the cruise industry is growing, the LGBT community has had some part to do with that."

The vessel is believed to be 400-passenger small but luxurious ship line with fine dining, signature amenities, custom itineraries in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. If that sounds expensive, then fret not because the fares are estimated to include a wide range of budgets.

The ports will differ according to the season. Barcelona and Piraeus (Athens) will operate as the Mediterranean ports during summer and St. Maarten and Colon will be the winter ports in the Caribbean.

Seeing that a company is taking such measures to make LGBT members feel at home makes us believe that all is not lost yet.
