Let’s go to the museum, it will be fun! Said no one ever. Who goes to the museum voluntarily anymore when you can get all the information on the Internet? But not the ones to lose hope, France’s national state-owned rail service SNCF devised a method to get one to include museums and landmarks in their daily lives.
SNCF collaborated with American manufacturing company 3M to give French trains some very artistic makeovers. This art series called Art In Transit, has covered the interiors of these trains with famous works of art. Passengers can now enjoy Impressionist art from the Musée d’Orsay, images from the oldest film company in the world, Cinéma Gaumont and designs and furnishings from the Palace of Versailles.
This art series has not only changed the entire commuting experience, it has also managed to deter vandals from defacing these trains.
