It's perhaps a sign of just how low some of those who are participating in the debate on students of Jawaharlal Nehru University are willing to stoop. Chairman of Haryana Housing Board and the former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Haryana CM Manohar lal Khattar courted controversy by comparing girls at JNU to prostitutes with this tweet:

After his statement sparked outrage, Yadav said that his statements were misinterpreted, and he meant that while sex workers are forced to sell their body, they are better than those shouting slogans at JNU, who he said were selling the country. Somehow he believed that was a better explanation:

And then finally some sense crept in after a fair bit of outrage and he tweeted:
