Despite the many controversies surrounding AOL's World Cultural Festival, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has now allowed the three-day cultural extravaganza to be held on the floodplains of the Yamuna.
And to compensate for the ecological damage the event has caused to the area, the tribunal has imposed a paltry fine of Rs 5 crore on the foundation.

Now that NGT has given its verdict, all politics n controversies around AOL event shud be put to rest(1/2)— Arvind Kejriwal (@ArvindKejriwal) March 9, 2016

Here's what people had to say about his opinion.
@ArvindKejriwal Farmers dream dashed, environment damaged and you are citing NGT order! Didn't expected the lame excuse from you— Sneha Sneh (@ProudBeingAAP) March 9, 2016
@ArvindKejriwal What do u have to say about farmers who lost land?.Have u forgotten the days when u used to fight for rights of poor people.— Pritha (@tweetingpritha) March 9, 2016
#NGT What a sham the penalty order is. Pay fine of Rs.5 crore & destroy ecology to the tune of thousands of crores. All the noise a charade.— PREETI SINGH (@preetitejsingh) March 9, 2016
And then there were those who had other grouses.
Govt didnt just lease d army, it also gave crores— harinder baweja (@shammybaweja) March 9, 2016
This was probably the only Twitter account which was delighted on hearing the news:
