In a major twist in the Ryan International murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation has detained a Class 11 student for the murder of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur.

The student was detained under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The arrested student’s father also confirmed that his son had been taken into custody regarding the investigation, The Times of India reports.

He further alleged that the CBI tried to force them to sign the confession documents.

Twist in the tale

This comes as a new development in the September 8 murder case which received high-profile attention. The seven-year-old was found with his throat slit in on of the school’s bathrooms.

Soon after the revelation, police detained and interrogated school staff such as the gardener and bus conductor, among others. However, the bus conductor, who was also accused of sexual assault, was arrested later after he confessed to the crime.

The CBI took over the murder probe on September 22.
