On Monday, reports emerged of reality show and social media star Kim Kardashian West being held at gunpoint in her hotel room in Paris.

A spokesperson for the reality television star said that she had been held at gunpoint by two masked men dressed as policemen, reported Associated Press.
"Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening by two armed masked men dressed as police officers," Kardashian West's spokeswoman, Ina Treciokas, said in a statement reported by CNN.
The representative gave no further detail or say whether the incident was an attempted robbery or had another motive.
"She is badly shaken but physically unharmed," the statement added.
Paris police officials refused to comment on the matter.
The news of the incident also prompted husband Kanye West to end his performance at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York after telling his fans had a "family emergency."

Her spokesperson said in an email statement that Kardashian was shaken but physically unharmed.
Kardashian was in Paris to attend the fashion week there.
Kardashian, one of the most identifiable US celebrities, was last week approached by Vitalii Sediuk, a famous accoster of the stars, who was caught on video attempting to kiss her behind in an apparent social commentary.
Fan reaction on social media sites to West's departure was mixed, with some saying emergencies can happen to anyone, but others complaining they had paid $300 for tickets and didn't get their money's worth.
