A 40-year-old librarian was on Monday found hanging from a ceiling fan with his two sons poisoned at his residence in the Management Development Institute in Gurgaon, police said.

Bharat Singh Dabas, working as a librarian at the institute lived with his wife, Sheetal and two sons, Abhinav (8) and Arjun (5) in Sanskriti apartments in the campus, they said.

Police recovered a suicide note in which Dabas accused his wife and in-laws of mental torture, Singh said.

Dabas alleged that his wife pressurised him to end the relationship and did not allow his kids to meet their grandmother, he said.

"We are investigating the matter and will take appropriate action against whoever will be found guilty," Singh said.

An FIR in this regard has been registered against his wife and in-laws at Sector-18 police station for abetment of suicide, he said.

Earlier after repeated calls made went unanswered, Sheetal called at MDI to know about her husband from where she learnt that Bharat had not come to library on Monday.

The management later informed the police.

"Following information, police officials with FSL team reached the spot and broke open the door and found two kids lying on the floor while Bharat was found hanging from ceiling fan," the ACP said.

When contacted, his wife refused to interact with media.
