The NIT authorities had on Friday ordered shutdown of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) campus in Srinagar till further orders after clashes between local and non-local students erupted over the defeat of Indian cricket team against the West Indies in Thursday's semi final clash in the ongoing World T20 Cup.
However, Classes will resume from Monday as normalcy has been restored on the campus.
"The issue has been resolved and the earlier order to suspend work has been revoked," an official of the NIT said. He said the class work will resume from Monday.

In Delhi, the HRD ministry said normalcy has been restored at the NIT Srinagar.
A statement issued by the ministry said NIT Director Rajat Gupta had reassured the students, faculty and parents that the temporary situation arising out of tensions from disappointment at the outcome of the cricket match March 31 had been overcome. The situation on the campus and at the hostels was normal, and academic activities would continue on Monday, the statement said. "The group of students have been counselled in the presence of senior officials," it added.
The Director, NIT Srinagar, assured the parents, students and all concerned that there is no cause for apprehension and students are safe and secure, said the statement.
The HRD Ministry said the district administration and local authorities had extended the fullest cooperation, enabling the situation to be contained. All scheduled programmes in the institution will take place, including the 'National Research Scholar Conclave' as scheduled, it added.
There was some altercation between local and non-local students which led to sloganeering on Friday. The NIT authorities had also asked all the students to vacate the hostels but were not evicted. The NIT, which was earlier known as Regional Engineering College, has nearly 2500 students and 400 academic staff members.
