Actor Anupam Kher, who was on way to meet students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar to give them "moral support", has been stopped at the Srinagar airport.
Earlier, he had told mediapersons that he was visiting the troubled institute at a personal level and it was a symbolic gesture.
After landing at the airport, he tweeted:
Landed in Srinagar. 'HOME' away from home. Will go to #NITSrinagar & meet the students & give them a warm hug & a special gift.— Anupam Kher (@AnupamPkher) April 10, 2016
But soon, Kher alleged he was being stopped at the airport, in a series of tweets:
I have been told by J&K police that I cannot enter Srinagar city at all. I have asked them to show me the orders. Still at the airport.— Anupam Kher (@AnupamPkher) April 10, 2016
Asked J&K Police if I can visit my ancestral home or Kheer Bhawani temple. Even that is not allowed. Basically it is #AirportArrest— Anupam Kher (@AnupamPkher) April 10, 2016
