In what can give a major shock to the makers of Bollywood film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘, a theatre owners’ body has said that they won’t release films with Pakistani actors.
Nitin Datar, President of COEAI (Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India) has said that they have decided to boycott Pakistani actors and technicians after Indian content was banned in Pakistan.
“We have decided that we will not screen these films (with Pak actors),” said Datar, as per reports.

On October 6, during a formal meet of exhibitors and distributors in Karachi, a ban was imposed on screening Indian films in Pakistan. It was done in response to a resolution by a film producers’ body in India against use of Pakistani artistes in Indian films.
In September, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association passed a resolution to ban Pakistani actors from the industry in the wake of the Uri attack.
Producer TP Aggarwal, president of IMPPA, had then said that in their 87th annual general meeting they passed a resolution that no Pakistani will be hired by their producer members forever.
The resolution had come on a day the Indian Army announced that seven terror launch pads were targeted across the LoC by special forces during a ‘surgical strike’ overnight.
