Twenty-six years ago, the situation in Kashmir exploded and with it begin a series of tragedies among which several died and many more went missing. Among these was a thriving population of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to leave their homeland due to violence and persecution.

As incidents of violence increased exponentially, anyone against the militants was perceived as a spy, Pandits in Kashmir were forced to choose between 'getting killed or a life in exile,' says veteran actor Anupam Kher in this heartfelt video.

As Kashmiri Pandits complete 26 years in excruciatingly long exile, here is a reminder of the tragedy world ignored. Let this story travel beyond borders until a new dawn takes us back home in Kashmir.
