The Times Television Network on Tuesday finally confirmed Arnab Goswami's resignation from the post of editor-in- chief of three channels.
Goswami was Editor-In-Chief of the news channels ET Now, Times Now and Magicbricks Now, and was best known for his popular primetime talk show 'The Newshour'.
Goswami will however, stay in the current position till the second half of November, and will also continue to host Newshour till that time, Economics Times reported.
An official statement was issued by Times Network MD MK Anand which said, “Times Network cherishes the decade-long association it had with Arnab. We are sure he will do well in his next endeavour and our good wishes are with him.”
Arnab, who has been in his position with the Times Network ever since its inception in 2006, resigned from the channel on November 2.
While several theories abound as to the former chief's departure, a possible solo venture or a joint venture with an international news organisation are being spoken of.
The Times of India quoted Goswami as saying:
"It's been an exciting ride at Times Network."
"We have changed the way news is done and I have worked with fantastic professionals in this journey. To these professionals, I dedicate the success of the last decade as I look forward now to the future."
