Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

First, it courted controversy when Chitrangada Singh reportedly walked out of the film saying that she was uncomfortable with the numerous explicit scenes in the film.

Then, the casting director, Sanjay Chouhan, made a racist remark against dark-skinned people.

Now, according to a report filed by The Times Of India, the censor board has ordered 48 cuts in the film after issuing ‘A’ certificate.

“CBFC has given me an adult certificate. Then why the 48 cuts? Are they trying to tell me that the adults who to come to see it need to be monitored and supervised? This is downright idiotic. We are hopeful that the tribunal will give us justice.” director Kushan Nandy told The Indian Express

Producer, Kiran Shroff, as per the report, has also alleged the examining committee members of humiliating her for the language and the storyline of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz

“We argued that if the film is for adults, then why have so many cuts. They didn’t bother much, and continued to explain each cut and their logic behind it. In the middle of that, a lady officer turned to me and said, ‘Aap aurat hokar aisi filmein kaise bana sakti hain’. And before I could speak up, a man in the committee said, ‘But she is not a woman. Look at what she is wearing,'” Shroff  told Bombay Times.
