Chris Evans will go down in history as our Captain America. Over the course of the last 10 years, he has made the character his own, as much as RDJ did with Iron man & Hugh Jackman did with Wolverine.
However, Evans has revealed he was 'apprehensive' about taking up the role after playing the Human Torch in Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
In an interview with We Got This Covered, Evans said:

"You know, it’s six movies, that can last 10 years. I love making movies but... I like to have the option to walk away... with a six picture deal, you can’t walk away."
Evans also talked about anonymity and losing that lifestyle after taking on the role.

"I also like having anonymity, I’ve managed to work and kind of stay under the radar."
Evans revealed that even though he kept saying no to playing the character, Marvel executives were simply insistent.

"When I finally agreed to do it, I needed to fix my brain and find out why I was so scared so I went to therapy. "
Evans was last seen playing the character in Avengers: Endgame, where he passes on the shield to Sam Wilson and peacefully retires his character.
