As animal and dog lovers, I’m pretty sure we all have often wondered how can we prevent stray dogs from falling prey to roadkills.

But this 20-something-year old has actually come up with a brilliant idea that have sorted all our worries and saved hundreds of stray dogs.

Humans Of Bombay recently shared a story of a young gentleman who’s taken an initiative to put reflective collars around stray dogs’ neck.

The reflective collars, just like road signs can be spotted by the drivers from a distance and the drivers will slow down or be more careful.

This youngster came up with this thoughtful idea when he saw a stray dog’s dead body lying on the road and as he went to bring the body on the side, another speeding car ran over it.

After witnessing this gruesome incident he got reflective collars made. Within a span of two days, stray dogs in his vicinity were wearing the shining collars. Though it was a good initiative, he wasn’t sure if his venture would make a difference:

. I didn’t know if it would work, but when I received a message saying that a dog had been saved because of the collar—it felt amazing!

He was working with the Tata Group when he decided to become every stray dog’s guardian angel. His genius idea was spreading like wildfire and every dog owner wanted to purchase it:

People wanted to buy our collars, but we had no funding.

With a pure intention to protect as many strays as possible and no fundings at all, this saviour’s dad advised him to write a letter to Mr. Ratan Tata who is also known to be a person who adores dogs.

He was’nt expeting a response when:

Two months later, I received a letter from Mr. Ratan Tata himself! When I opened it, it said that he loved our work & would like to meet me—I couldn’t believe it!

After a few days, he met Mr. Ratan Tata in his Mumbai office where Mr.Tata made him meet his doggos and told him that he would love to fund his venture. In fact, Ratan Tata also complimented his work:

I’m deeply touched by the work you do!’

After returning from his masters and being Mr Ratan Tata’s assistant for 18 months, the guardian angel of street doggo realised that:

People my age have a hard time finding the right set of friends, the right mentor & the right kind of boss. But I can’t believe my stars that I found all these humans in one superhuman named Mr. Ratan Tata. People lovingly call him Boss, but I like to call him the ‘Millennial Dumbledore’.
