Animals bonding and caring for each other is the purest thing you can witness on this God’s green Earth. These innocent creatures teach us humans lessons in harmonious co-existence.
Two stray dogs, a senior Chihuahua named Jimmy, and Stevie who is a blind Shar-Pei share an other-worldly bond. According to The Dodo, Stevie doesn’t go anywhere without Jimmy, and he sticks to him like anything, both complementing each other like nutella to bread.
Neda Rosa, board member and volunteer for California Shar-Pei Rescue, told The Dodo, that they have never seen a bond like this in their entire 30 years of rescue work.
“We have never — in our 30 years of rescue — seen a bond like these two…. And it’s interesting because it’s like Jimmy the Chihuahua knows his partner is blind, and he’s taking care of him. He’s just stuck to him like glue. He’s constantly grooming him, and he showers his face nonstop. And he just wants to be with him.”
A few days ago, Stevie and Jimmy were picked in southern California and taken to Ramona Humane Society, where no one came forward to claim these stray dogs.
After a while, a picture of them caught the attention of California Shar-Pei Rescue, who rescued these two.
An exclusively Shar-Peis’ rescue society, California Shar-Pei Rescue decided to save both the strays when they saw Jimmy and Stevie’s unique bond.
Rosa told The Dodo, that Stevie is like a protector to Jimmy, and never wants to leave his side.
“He’s just constantly next to him, and he stands in front of him… He’s like his protector, and you can tell that they’ve had some time together. And Jimmy is always licking [Stevie’s] eyes, and he’s always taking care of him and doesn’t want to leave his side.”
