Superstitions have existed in the world as long have humans have. Mankind has always given names and worshipped things he feared or didn’t understand. My limited knowledge tells me that must be the reason people started believing in superstitions.
Nevertheless, they exist and boy, they exist in weird forms and beliefs all over the world.
On a serious note, the world needs better things to fear.
