For the uninitiated, Ralph Waldo Emerson was an American essayist, philosopher, lecturer and a well-established poet who led the transcendentalist movement during the mid-19th century. He was one of the most influential writers and thinkers who promoted individualism. His work gave readers an exposure to non-Western ways of thinking, sacred mythologies and metaphysical concepts. And to us modern-day commoners, his works, nay, his words are nothing less than motivation one needs every day, to get through life as a warrior soul.
