This year, on the 72nd Independence Day, we reached out to our grandparents – people who actually lived through the pain and anguish of an event that still haunts them, the partition that shaped their childhood and their personalities in indescribable ways.

This independence day, let us all be grateful for the freedom we have. Yes, it is flawed, but it is a hard-earned freedom indeed. Yes, things can change for the better, but a lot was sacrificed to achieve the freedom we take so casually today!
