A noted poet of the Urdu language, Hasrat Mohani was also a well-known freedom fighter and activist, who actually coined the famous slogan Inquilab Zindabad. A Krishna devotee, he also wrote many verses dedicated to him. However, his most popular work remains the ghazal Chupke Chupke Raat Din, that was immortalized by singer Ghulam Ali.
