Shillong Is Going To Host India’s 2nd Cherry Blossom Festival & It Looks Totally Mesmerising

Shillong’s going to be home to the India International Cherry Blossom Festival from 8-11 November 2017, and from the looks of the last one, it’s going to be glorious.

You no longer have to visit Japan to swim through a sea of these beauties. Himalayan cherry blossoms grow wild in the Khasi Hills, and they really are a sight to behold.

According to The Shillong Times, it is being organised by the Meghalaya government, in association with the Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal, and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.

The festival will also have guided night walks under illuminated cherry blossoms, live music, and stalls showcasing the cuisine, wine, arts and craft of the region.

“The government has planted thousands of cherry blossom trees which are lined up inside beautiful bamboo tree guards for protection,” Chief Minister Mukul M Sangma told The Shillong Times.

It really does look like a pink and white paradise.
