Our society is built on a set of a regressive, patriarchal, arbitrary, and most definitely toxic set of rules that often harm, rather than help a child’s wholistic growth. And it’s high time that these rules are changed to get on with the time and bring in change. 

This is why, even though we know our parents wish the best for us, we don’t want to carry the same flawed ideas of parenthood forward:
