This TT From Nagpur Is Bringing Alive The Magic Of Train Journeys Through His Mesmerizing Paintings

Bhavya Mehta

Bijaya Biswal, a Train Ticket Examiner in the Nagpur division of Indian Railways is known for capturing the beauty of platforms and junctions in his picturesque strokes.

In a series of water colour paintings, he has beautifully depicted the hustle-bustle around railway junctions and the lives of the passengers.

After completing 25 years of employment in the Indian Railways, Biswal has been following his passion along with balancing his profession. He believes that his job inspires his work.

My job allows me to travel and observe the platforms, trains, employment of people around it and so many other things which I try to capture in my art work.

The Indian Railways has been encouraging his artwork too, the Salem Division of Southern Railways shared his work on their Facebook page which went viral. His beautiful art even solicited a mention from PM Modi on one of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ session.
