If nazms and shayaris are your thing, Urdu festival Jashn-e-Rekhta is the perfect event for you to attend this weekend.
From literature to art and handicrafts, you’ll find everything Urdu at the festival.
The fourth edition of the event will have interactive sessions with celebrities like lyricist Javed Akhtar, actors Waheeda Rehman, Nandita Das and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali.
The cultural acts include Dastangoi by Nadeem Shah and Shankar Musafir, a performance by Seven Eyes and a qawwali by Nizami Bandhu.
Shilpa Rao will also be present to enchant the listeners with her voice. She’ll be singing ghazal shayari on December 10.
Apart from that, the festival will also boast of the Rekhta Bazaar where you can buy handicrafts, antiquities and books in Urdu, Hindi and English.
