When we talk about great movies, The Shawshank Redemption definitely crops up. And with good reason, a genuine feel-good movie, its undercurrent of hope keeps us bouyant, knowing that there’s better in store for someone like Andy Dufresne and there is. The characters are all well rounded, from the cynical Red to the young, refreshing Tommy to the crooked Warden Norton.
And best of all, this movie makes you believe in hope. It’s got its stellar moments, the moment when Andy comes out of the tunnel and into the rain, when a hopeful Red joins Andy after he’s a free man.
