Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi, who had earlier been accused of harassment by a prominent Bollywood actress, has now been booked for rape by the Mumbai police. According to Times Now, the Versova Police station registered a rape case against Pancholi after the actress recorded her official statement today.
The case actually goes back to 2017, when she had accused Pancholi of harassing her physically and mentally. Following this, Pancholi filed a counter-suit against her for defamation, saying she was trying to malign his image.
While an FIR for rape has been registered against him, the police feel that it will be tough to prove the charges considering the allegations are on the basis of what happened 10 years ago.
Further investigations are now underway.
