Mumbai Lawyer Files Petition To Get LLB Removed From ‘Jolly LLB 2’ Title

Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2  has run into legal trouble with an advocate on Thursday filing a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking to have the word ‘LLB’ removed from the title of the film.

According to a report by The Hindu, advocate Ajaykumar S. Waghmare moved the court stating that the word LLB and certain scenes shown in the trailer of the film were deliberate attempts to malign the reputation of the Indian legal profession.

The petition filed by Waghmare says that playing cards and dancing in the court premises, as shown in the trailer, suggests the film has disrespect for judicial discipline, proceedings and ethics.

He also wants the court to discontinue the playing of the trailer on social media and television channels.

Earlier, footwear giant Bata had sent a legal notice to the film’s makers claiming that one of the dialogues damages the image of the brand.

The petition against Jolly LLB 2 is likely to be heard on January 24. 

The film also featuring Huma Qureshi in a leading role and is all set to release on February 10.
