‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ Ruled Over ‘Shivaay’ At The Box Office This Weekend

Traditionally, Diwali is when get things dirty at the box office. Blockbusters fight each other out, filmmakers indulge in some old-fashioned mud-slinging. This Diwali, we had two biggies taking on each other and the fangs were bared.

Ajay Devgn, who released his second directorial venture, Shivaay this week, left no stones unturned to promote his film, while Karan Johar went through a roller-coaster of emotions in the weeks leading to the release of ADHM as the MNS ban on the film all but jeopardized its release.

Now that both films have released, reviewed and watched, here are some Box Office figures that clearly show who won this battle in its first weekend.

The first weekend is the most crucial for any film as that is what sets the trend and the basic premise for word of mouth among cine-goers. Clearly, the curiosity over Ae Dil Hai Mushkil raked in the moolah.
