‘Bahubali’ Singer LV Revanth Wins Indian Idol Season 9

Contestant LV Revanth, who lent his voice for the film Bahubali, was announced as the winner of the ninth season of the music reality show Indian Idol on Sunday evening.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar who appeared on the show to unveil his maiden song ‘Cricket Wali Beat’, announced Lolla Venkata Revanth Kumar Sharma as the winner. 

Besides the title, the 27-year old southern singer was also awarded a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh, a Mahindra KUV100 and a singing contract with Sony Music.

While Punjab-based Khuda Baksh clinched the first runners-up title, Hyderabad’s PVNS Rohit finished with the second runners-up position.

Comedian Sunil Grover who’s under contractual obligations with Sony Television, also made an appearance on the show along with The Kapil Sharma Show co-star Sugandha Mishra.

Apart from the presence of Farah Khan, Sonu Nigam and Anu Malik who kick-started the Indian Idol journey as judges, the episode also featured Boman Irani, Raveena Tandon and Arshad Warsi.
