Anupam Kher Takes Charge As New Chairman Of FTII From Gajendra Chauhan

Actor Anupam Kher has been appointed as the new chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune on Wednesday. He takes over from television actor Gajendra Chauhan, who stepped down from his position this year in March.

Soon after the announcement, Kher took to Twitter to respond to his appointment

The 62-year-old actor, who has been critically acclaimed for multiple Hindi films has also acted as the head of the censor board and the National School of Drama.

Chauhan, who was given the charge in 2015, served for only one year and seven months as against the usual norm of three years as his tenure was mired in controversies and protests. 

Meanwhile, congratulatory messages, mostly from the film fraternity poured on social media. His wife Kirron Kher also took to Twitter to congratulate him
