John Abraham Starrer ‘Batla House’ Re-Examines The Infamous 2008 Operation Batla House Encounter

The trailer for John Abraham starrer Batla House released today, and it attempts to show the story behind the infamous 2008 Delhi Police encounter case, Operation Batla House. 

In 2008, Delhi Police had conducted an encounter against suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists, located in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. Encounter specialist and Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma was martyred during the incident, while the complete incident came under scrutiny for allegedly violating human rights. The movie is inspired by the same incident. 

John Abraham stars as DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who is the prime investigating officer on the case and the man accused of killing ‘innocent students’ during the investigation. 

The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur as his wife, along with Prakash Raj, Ravi Kishan, and others. 

Gritty and intriguing, the trailer showcases Sanjeev Kumar’s journey towards clearing his name while handling political pressure and a ‘trial by media and public’.
