A three-member committee appointed by the Bombay High Court has found the Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi starrer Jolly LLB 2 guilty of mocking the judiciary.
The court has demanded the deletion of four scenes from the film. Scenes that showed a petrified judge hiding behind a chair, a scene with questionable gesture, a sequence where a shoe was hurled and a dialogue that had objectionable content.
The CBFC had already cleared the film, but they will now have to re-issue the certificate in the light of all the court-room drama created in real life.
The ‘reel’ courtroom drama turned into ‘real’ after advocate Ajaykumar S. Waghmare moved the Bombay High Court stating that the word LLB and certain scenes shown in the trailer of the film were deliberate attempts to malign the reputation of the Indian legal profession.
The petition also requested to have the word ‘LLB’ removed from the title of the film.
