We’ve reached a point where genre-bending is being increasingly accepted by moviegoers as a whole. Directors aren’t afraid to experiment, as the trailer for the new superhero/horror flick Brightburn will show you.
It starts off with a Superman origin vibe – Baby crash lands on earth, is adopted by a loving, pastoral family, shows signs of superhuman abilities – but that’s where the similarities end. You don’t always get lucky and end up with a kid who wants to save humanity.
Sometimes, the kid just wants to kill people.
