Chitrashi Rawat Talks About The Difficulties Indian Women Face When It Comes To A Sports Career

You may know her as as Komal Chautala, the feisty Haryanvi girl in Chak De! India. But not many know that Chitrashi Rawat by profession was a national level hockey player, before she stepped into Bollywood. Her hockey skills were what bagged her the role in Chak De!.

In a recent conversation with Bombay Times, Chitrashi threw light upon the struggles of a female sportsperson in India. Whether it was PV Sindhu’s aggression on the court or Sakshi Malik’s problems back home, there’s a reason behind it all. Taking all this into account, Chitrashi spoke about everything from playing hockey in Chak De! to playing hockey in real life and the troubles that came attached to it. Here are excerpts:
