The 36-year-old comedian was to be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award today in the evening. But now, his presence looks a bit difficult and this would be the second time he would miss it.

A report by the DNA suggests that Kapil, who was chosen for the honour in 2014, had to collect the award from a stage co-ordinator as he turned up late for the event.

Besides him, actress Priyanka Chopra, Juhi Chawla, music-director duo Anand-Milind and ‘Dangal’ director Nitesh Tiwari are among other awardees this year.

Please note: This award function has nothing to do with the illustrious Dada Saheb Phalke Award which is one of the highest recognition for an artist from the Indian film industry.
