The opening episode of Game of Thrones Season 7 caused the HBO website to crash during its premiere, reported Telegraph.co.uk.

HBO Go, the streaming service from the cable network that produces and broadcasts ‘Game of Thrones’, was down for hours before and during the airing of the first new episode of the fantasy series in a year.

According to Hollywood reporters, the main website had returned to working order during the final half of the ‘Game of Thrones’ season seven East Coast premiere.

Some fans trying to watch the premiere took to Twitter to express their displeasure.

A spokesperson for HBO told The Hollywood Reporter that HBO Go was experiencing outages in Latin America on Sunday and that the team in the region was working to resolve the problems. But she added that HBO hadn’t seen any widespread on HBO Go or HBO Now in the United States.

However, this wasn’t the first time HBO Go had failed at a crucial moment. The service has been temperamental during the ‘Game of Thrones’ premieres since 2014.

HBO Now, which is accessed through a web browser, suffered similar outages in 2016 during the tension-laden ‘Battle of the Bastards’ episode.
